In 2018, 35 years after the release of the first model DW-5000C, the GMW-B5000D, which is fully metal and equipped with a Connected engine, will be released based on the concepts of "evolution of the exterior," "evolution of the structure," and "evolution of the module." Full metal version based on DW-5000, the origin of G-SHOCK. Hard stainless steel material is used for the bezel and band. We reviewed the hollow structure, which is the core technology of G-SHOCK, and evolved the impact-resistant structure. We have developed a new shock-resistant structure that can withstand even full metal cases by sandwiching a fine resin buffer between the metal bezel and the main case. By improving the band attachment part where the most impact is applied and providing a relay point in the center of the center case, the impact applied to the band attachment pipe is reduced. In addition, it uses a screw back case with a solid feel, and the back cover has been treated with DLC for excellent wear resistance. We strive to improve visibility by using film solar cells and an STN-LCD (liquid crystal) that makes the time display easy to read even from an oblique angle. The face design pays homage to the original model, with thorough attention paid to everything from the dial to the main display layout, resulting in a design reminiscent of the first model. In addition, while equipped with the latest engine, the size is maintained using high-density mounting technology. We are entrusting the further possibilities of G-SHOCK to the full metal specification GMWB5000D, which inherits the design with the highest degree of perfection and has evolved the exterior and module. In terms of functionality, it pursues accurate time accuracy and is equipped with Bluetooth communication function and multi-band 6 that supports standard radio waves from 6 stations around the world. By linking with the dedicated application G-SHOCK Connected*1, accurate time information is obtained from a time server on the Internet. In areas that support standard radio waves from six stations around the world, it is equipped with a radio wave reception function that automatically adjusts the time and obtains accurate time. In addition, Casio's unique power-saving technology, Tough Solar, enables stable drive, and it also features practical features such as a high-brightness, fully automatic LED backlight, and world time. Furthermore, it supports localization that allows the day of the week to be displayed in 6 languages*2.
