A collaboration between snow salt from Miyakojima and brown sugar made from 100% Okinawan ingredients!
Yukishio, made from seawater from Miyakojima, Okinawa Prefecture, has won the Gold Award at Monde Selection for three years in a row.
"Yukishio brown sugar" has a different taste, with a mellow salty taste that brings out the richness and sweetness.
Simpler without using starch syrup. A 100% Okinawan product made from snow salt and sugar cane from Miyako Island.
Pair it with Sanpin tea, a traditional Chinese tea with the unique, gorgeous scent of jasmine, and you'll have a relaxing tea time in no time.
[Snow salt from Miyakojima]
Miyakojima is said to be an island formed by upheaval of coral, and is characterized by the fact that the Ryukyu limestone stratum lies beneath the island.
This stratum has countless holes, and although it is rock, it has a sponge-like structure.
As the seawater passes through Ryukyu limestone, impurities are removed, and at the same time, the calcium from the corals dissolves into underground seawater.
Seawater, which is the source of snow salt, is pumped up from about 20 meters underground.
With the idea of ``creating salt that retains the ingredients of seawater as they are,'' 18 types of ingredients such as sodium and magnesium were detected using an unprecedented manufacturing method.
The bounty of the sea from Miyakojima has won the Monde Selection Gold Award for three years in a row.
Okinawa has had a belief in Nirakanai since ancient times, and it is said that wealth comes from beyond the sea.
Okinawa's sugarcane was also brought to Okinawa from China 400 years ago, and through selective breeding, it became a crop suited to Okinawa's climate and has been cultivated to this day.
Brown sugar made from sugar cane grown in Okinawa is known nationwide for its rich flavor.
Brown sugar contains various types of vitamins and minerals.
Among them, potassium is especially abundant. In addition, the natural oligosaccharide (raffinose) contained in brown sugar relieves hunger with just a small amount, making it ideal as a snack.
Yukishio brown sugar is a product jointly developed by Kokuto Honpo Kakinohana and Miyakojima's Yukishio.
